The Cultural Chancellor of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Uganda celebrates journalist’s day with message to value their professional and guard it, respect it and observe the cardinal tenets of journalism to improve unity and propagating good and righteousness in the society they serve.
Alhaji.Muhammad Reza Ghezelsofla, The Cultural Chancellor of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Uganda told journalists in Kampala last week when he hosted them to mark the Iranian journalist’s day.
Journalists from Iran the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) mainly reporters were brutally killed by Taliban militants in the northern part of Afghanistan while executing their noble caused of disseminating news and information on that day.
“The day is marked to remember the brave heroes journalists who tireless worked to give the community what was happening and in appreciation of the work, value Journalists have in transforming societies” Ghezelsofla Said,
He said that, Journalists have a pivotal role to the development of the country since they direct society towards positivity or negativity.
In Surat Hujrat, God states that when someone brings you News, don’t accept or decide immediately but make research about it after which make courageous decisions.
This verse recommends us to verify about the news we get so as we don’t get problems amongst us in future.
The holy Quran started with reading and emphasized the pen which should be at the service of the country.
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: The ink of the pen of scholars is mightier than the Martyrs.

Reza Ghezelsofla also congratulated journalists upon their position and nature
of the work because it’s like prophetic role in society.
He further requested them to always think
about the news that they publish and broadcast to be in the interest of
building their respective Nations.
The news should bring a sense of humor, responsibility, patriotism spirit and self-esteem.
More than 40 years ago, Iran was not so developed like it is today but due to collective actions of different group of people including journalists among others.
In each field of development, we should focus on internal improvement and value addition to the goods and services of the country.
