The Mufti of Uganda, His Eminence Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, this week welcomed the first batch of Ugandan pilgrims who have been performing Haj at the holy land of Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

Among other notable faces of Pilgrims for this year 2022 were state minister in charge of Micro Finance, Haruna Kyeyune Kasolo and Moses Kabusu, the Kyamuswa County Member of Parliament and Chemonges Sabira MP from Kapchorwa were among the prominent Pilgrims who were greeted by the Mufti shortly after their arrival at Entebbe Airport.

Mufuti Sheikh Ramadhan Mubaje, thanked Allah for enabling Muslims the world over to resume the pilgrimage two years after the global shutdown triggered by the Covid-19 pandemic, which cost many lives.

Mubaje thanked the Saudi government for putting in place several measures including health precautions to ease the Hajj rituals as pilgrims come in to fulfil this lifetime ritual.

Mubaje beseeched Allah to eliminate coronavirus from the face of the world to enable more Muslims to perform this important ritual and allow the Saudi authorities to remove age restrictions, which have now denied people about 65 years of age to perform haji because of their vulnerability to the disease.
