Ugandans Warned against using fake documents in Visa application process!

Simon Peter Mundeyi, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Internal Affairs, revealed that many Ugandans who fail to secure U.S. visas often submit forged documents as part of their application. He noted that this practice has contributed to Uganda being placed on a list of countries facing tighter visa restrictions by the U.S. government.

The Government of Uganda, through the Ministry of Internal Affairs, has issued a warning to Ugandans applying for U.S. visas to refrain from submitting fake or unauthentic documents, as doing so may lead to automatic rejection.

This warning follows a recent meeting between officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Internal Affairs with representatives from the United States Embassy to discuss the visa application process.

Simon Peter Mundeyi, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Internal Affairs, revealed that many Ugandans who fail to secure U.S. visas often submit forged documents as part of their application. He noted that this practice has contributed to Uganda being placed on a list of countries facing tighter visa restrictions by the U.S. government.

In an effort to foster good diplomatic relations between the two nations, Mundeyi also urged Ugandans traveling to the U.S. to respect the visa terms, particularly regarding the duration of stay. He warned against overstaying and manipulating visa conditions.

Mundeyi further disclosed that authorities have identified cases of Ugandans along Dewinton Road in Kampala who are producing fake U.S. visas or altering genuine ones. He emphasized that such acts are illegal and those found engaging in them will be arrested and prosecuted.

The Ministry encourages all applicants to follow the legal process and submit genuine documents to avoid jeopardizing their travel opportunities and Uganda’s international standing.
