Bushenyi, RUHARO WARD-In an unprecedented move that has sent ripples through the political landscape of Bushenyi District, 10 key coordinators from Nyamunyonyi Vianah Kemigisha’s camp have officially crossed over to join the camp of the current Woman MP, Hon. Annet Mugisha, marking a pivotal moment in the ongoing race for political dominance in Ruharo Ward, located within the heart of Central Division, Bushenyi Ishaka Municipality.

On October 10, 2025, as the sun rose over the rolling hills of Bushenyi, the political temperature also began to heat up. The event, which unfolded in the various villages that make up Ruharo Ward, has left both political supporters and observers abuzz with speculation about what this could mean for the upcoming electoral contests.

These villages, each with its unique cultural and political vibe, have long been strongholds for Kemigisha’s supporters, but the recent defections seem to signal a shifting tide in the region.

The 10 political coordinators who made the brave decision to switch allegiance are some of the most influential figures in their respective villages. From the bustling streets of Kamira, kicwamba, Rwandaro, kayojo, Kikuba central, Mabale, kyabumbire, Nombe, to the serene, rural expanse of Ruharo central, their departure from Nyamunyonyi’s camp has left political analysts scratching their heads.

Hon. Annet Mugisha, known for her grassroots connections and long-standing advocacy for women and youth empowerment, is the right choice.
“We’ve seen Hon. Annet Mugisha’s commitment to serve. She’s accessible, she listens, and she’s made an impact in ways that resonate with the people here.

What This Means for the Political Landscape in Ruharo Ward Ruharo Ward has long been a battleground for political influence.

Known for its vibrant mix of cultures, traditions, and strong community values, this area in Bushenyi Ishaka Municipality has been at the center of numerous political campaigns and movements. As the 2026 elections loom closer, every move, every alliance, and every shift in loyalties matters.

With the defection of these 10 powerful coordinators, Hon. Annet Mugisha now holds a stronger foothold in Ruharo, with much of her new support coming from the heart of the Ward. This marks a shift in the power dynamic that will likely have significant consequences for Nyamunyonyi’s campaign moving forward.

Hon. Mugisha’s camp has celebrated the move as a sign of political maturity and resonance with the electorate. A statement released by her campaign team Eng. James Mwebaze: “We welcome these leaders into our fold. This is a sign of the trust people have in the progress we are making together. With such passionate coordinators joining us, we will continue working hard to ensure Bushenyi’s prosperity for all its people.”

This sudden and dramatic shift in allegiance is more than just a tactical move; it’s a sign that the political pulse in Bushenyi is changing. The battle for political supremacy in Ruharo Ward is no longer about old loyalties and traditional party lines but about who can connect with the people and deliver tangible results.
