Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has scheduled 6th October as the day for election of the party’s presidential candidate for the forthcoming elections.

Speaking to the journalists at the party headquarters in Najanankunbi on Monday 28th, Ibrahim Semuju Nganda; the FDC party spokesperson said that FDC party members will have to vote either Eng .Patric Amuriat; the FDC President or Ambassodor Wasswa Birigwa; the party’s Chairman to represent the party in the forth coming general presidential elections.

The two aspiring candidates are currently conducting their joint campaigns and have been accompanied by the party secretary General  Honorable Nathan Nandala Mafaabi,  the electoral commission chairman Toterebuka Bamwenda and the vice chairman for Western Uganda Hon.Ronald Mugume Kaginda.

Ssemujju Nganda said that the reason as to why they were accompanied was to reconcile the FDC leaders who were divided by the party primaries.

FDC has requested the Electoral commission to come out and investigate the irregularities that were exhibited in the local government nomination period.

He further said that since the candidates are nominated, the electoral commission must issue clear and specific guidelines on how the campaigns should be conducted.

Ssemuju called upon the Electoral Commission to caution police to stop the use of excess force while dispersing people during political activities.
