Top aide to President Yoweri Museveni and the spokesperson of the office of the NRM National Chairman’s located at Kyambogo Mr.Farouq Kirunda says has blasted the National Unity Platform flag bearer, Robert Kyagulanyi for misleading the public saying that government is targeting his children has he claims.

Mr. Farouk Kirunda told the Homeland Newspaper that, government has been protecting Hon, Kyagulanyi’s family as a Ugandan and also as a politician the claims that government was targeting his family are baseless and unfounded.

“The government security organs have been protecting Bobi wine throughout his campaigns where he has been violating the Covid-19 rules put by the ministry of health without harming his family. How can the same government do it when the campaigns are elapsing?” Says Kirunda.

According to Kirunda, the claims by Hon. Kyagulanyi and how he interprets matters is wanting, when he decided to contest for the top office he knew the SOPs guidelines by the ministry of health and emphasized by the Electoral commission he then decided to ignore, when he is intercepted by Security organs, he takes the matter to be a violation of human rights which is not clear for a person of that stature.

“He has been conducting campaigns without adhering to the Standard Operating procedures not even telling people coming for his massive campaigns to put on masks and when intercepted by security organs he takes the matter to be a violation of human rights and attack from the government which is not true.” Kirunda says.

However, Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu aka Bobi Wine says that his children have been targeted before and he had no option than taking them outside Uganda.

“You all recall that in 2017, at the height of the Age Limit debate, they threw grenades at my son, Solomon Sekayi’s bedroom window, and left a message that I should back off, or the consequences would be dire that is why, therefore, when I received information of pending physical attacks on me, my wife and kidnap of our children, friends in the diaspora reached out to us, offered to host them for a while,” Kyagulanyi said recently.
