In a bid to reduce unemployment levels in the country Ruparelia group established a labour externalization firm to enable youth and able Ugandans acquire jobs abroad to improve their lives and earn a living and contribute to the economy.

As we speak today Uganda’s national unemployment rate is 9.2%, while the unemployment rate for youth aged 18-30 is 13.3%.

It’s against this background that Premier recruitment, a Ugandan based outsourcing firm has announced demand of over 800 jobs in Qatar, a peninsular Arab country.

In a letter addressed to Premier Recruitment Limited, Aletqan Manpower, managing Director, Mr. Sami Suleiman, said the Doha based human resource consulting organization and recruitment agency intends to recruit manpower from Uganda.

The required work force includes a request for 100 mechanical technicians, 50 plumbers, 100 electrical technicians, 50 carpenters and 50 painters respectively.

Speaking to the Homeland Newspaper, the managing director at Premier Recruitment Rajiv Ruparelia said that, the electrical and mechanical technicians, plumbers, carpenters and painters will each earn a basic salary of 1100 QR per month.

Rajiv Ruparelia also revealed that another 100 laborer’s, 200 security guards, 200 waiters (including male and female) are required and will each earn a basic salary of 1000 QR per month.

According to Rajiv Ruparelia, once vetted a two-year renewable contract will be provided, and will include working 8 hours per day for 6 days of the week with a six (6) month probation period.

This offer will also include a joining and round-trip air ticket, free food or an allowance of 300 QR, accommodation, transport, medical and insurance facilities, a resident permit, leave (21 days per year) and end of service benefits as provided for in the Qatar labor law.
