A retired soldier of the United States Army Gen. Wesley Kanne Clark, visited the country and offered a lecture to Special Forces Command officers.

The US General, who participated in the US-Vietnam war, met the SFC service commanders and directors at Lake Victoria Serena Hotel in Kigo in the morning of Tuesday.

The lecture about leadership and other military aspects was attended by senior SFC Officers led by the Deputy Commander of the Special Forces Command, Brig Gen Peter Candia.

Also in attendance were the Commander of 2SFG Col BD Mugisha and Col Mcdans Kamugira, the Chief of Staff under the office of the Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations; Col JB Asinguza, the director training among other service commanders and directors.

After the lecture, Gen Clark was given an assortment of gifts including books, Ugandan coffee and an SFC souvenir logo by the Deputy Commander SFC.

Who is Gen Clark?

The 76-year-old retired US General was born December 23, 1944. He graduated as valedictorian of the class of 1966 at West Point and was awarded a Rhodes scholarship to the University of Oxford, where he obtained a degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics.

He later graduated from the Command and General Staff College with a master’s degree in military science. He spent 34 years in the U.S. Army, receiving many military decorations, several honorary knighthoods, and the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
