Ugandans have condemned the manner in which two members of the foreign affairs minister Sam Kuteesa’s inner family were awarded roles as ambassadors in two of Uganda’s Diplomatic missions.

The missions both fall in their father’s docket.

Inga Kutesa, 39, has been appointed Consul of Oman in Uganda. The appointment was made by the Oman Foreign Affairs minister Badr Albusaidi.

State Minister for International Relations Henry Okello Oryem congratulated Inga upon his appointment. He was asked to also promote good relations between the two countries.

He has since started duties at the York terrace Kololo office in Kampala. “I will closely work with line labour ministries to iron out challenges between the two countries,” he said.

Ishta Kuteesa, another member, (Daughter) to the Hon Minister has also been appointed Honorary Consul of Israel to Uganda.

Ugandans have however already taken to social media wondering why it is only the Kuteesa family that can take over all such diplomatic responsibilities.

Dr. Kizza Besigye, a three time Presidential aspirant took to social media Platform “twitter” to raise reservations on the nominations. Besigye added that away from the two family Members, Kuteesa’s other daughter is married to the first son, Muhoozi Kainerugaba, also commander of the Special Forces group.

“The other Kutesa daughter, Shartsi Kutesa, has been “elected” to replace her dad as MP for Mawogola, Sembabule District. She controversially edged out M7’s brother Sodo,” Besigye wondered.

Other Ugandans took to Facebook where they raised concerns which all were watered down by NRM supporters who said, there would not be any problem for them to be appointed for as long as they are qualified.

It has also been established that the Foreign Affairs Ministry does not select such consuls but however, the countries they represent.

“Those quarreling can also work hard enough to be selected to such offices instead of rubbishing the already competent Ugandan Diplomats.” Said Ismail Kato, a Facebook fan.
