The Education Service Commission, (ESC) a Government statutory body mandated to oversee the performance of education officers through appointment and promotion has on July 1st, 2021, released a list of successful candidates who sat for interviews for Headquarters posts, Head Teachers, Deputy Head Teachers and various posts in Seed Schools constructed under UGIFT Program.

Dr. Asuman Lukwago, said in the list released has (11) candidates have been appointed to Headquarters posts, (35) have been appointed to Head Teachers while (70) have been promoted to deputy headteacher level.

According to Dr.Asuman Lukwago, the Education Service Commission has also appointed staff in Seed Schools Constructed under UGIFT Program. Many of whom were sent to Seed Schools, as teachers, senior accounts, and Stenographers who are referred to as Secretaries.

He said Education Service Commission is currently not in a position to issue notification letters due to the National Covid- 19 Lockdown.

Dr.Lukwago, however, said all the appointed candidates hereunder will be informed on the convenient time to pick the notification letters upon lifting of the national Covid- 19 Lockdown.

“Successful candidates are hereby informed that Education Service Commission is not in a position to issue notification letters due to the National Covid- 19 Lockdown declared by H.E The President. You will be informed on when to pick the notification letters upon lifting of the Covid- 19 Lockdown”. Lukwago in a statement on ESC website.

The Secretary, Education Service Commission informs candidates who sat for interviews for Ministry of Education & Sports Headquarters posts, Headteachers, Deputy Headteachers, and various posts in Seed Schools constructed under the UGIFT Program, that the results are hereby released.

In accordance with Articles 167, 168 and 172 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda 1995, the Education Service Commission directed as follows:-

About Education Service Commission [ESC]

The Education Service Commission is established by article 167 91) of the 1995 constitution of the Republic of Uganda and article 168 (1) sets out its functions, authority, and autonomy in implementing its mandate of advising the president in performing his / her functions in relation to Article 172 of the Constitution and on appointing all personnel in the education service and charged in developing, maintaining and improving the quality of those personnel and that of the service generally.

The Education Service commission [ESC] is responsible for approximately 70% of the public service of Uganda. These include the staff of the Ministry of Education and Sports Headquarters and all staff (teaching and non teaching staff) of post primary and Tertiary institutions except national universities.
