Mulekwah Appointed Secretary to  Electoral Commission

Mulekwah Russel Jacques Leonard has been approved as the Secretary to the Electoral Commission, Following the Tuesday meeting of 12th October 2021 under Min.CM 259/2021,The Homeland Newspaper has learnt from the letter written by the Chairman Electoral Commission.

Accordingly Leonard Mulekwah’s appointment is contained in a letter dated October 21, 2021.

In the letter, Mr. Leonard Mulekwah was approved as Electoral Commission Secretary on October 12, 2021 on a 5-year contract renewable once.

His appointment comes with Shs25 million monthly salary, with housing allowances, bodyguards, a car, special services, transport among other benefits given to a civil servant to a level of permanent secretary.

Mulekwah has been in acting position since July 2020 when he succeeded Sam Rwakoojo who were sacked with other officials on grounds of corruption and abuse of office.
