The Democratic Party (DP) has embarked on a two day nomination process aimed at identifying the party’s flag bearer for East Africa Legislative Assembly(EALA) elections scheduled for 2022.

Two candidates were nominated on Monday; Babirye Kabanda, the former Woman Member of Parliament for Masaka district and Namusana Faith Akiteng a former parliamentary contestant for Woman Member of Parliament, Ngora district.

The candidates emphasized furthering East African integration through good representation.

Kabanda said her campaign is anchored on the opulence of experience in leadership and international relations.

Akiteng said she brings a wealth of international relations. The youthful lawyer, who acts as a legal advisor for many international companies, promised to use the seat to develop the youth in the country and also attract billions of money into the country’s economy.
