Angola Quadripartite meeting ends, as Leaders agree on peaceful resolution of disputes

LUANDA – The Quadripartite meeting of heads of state from and governments of the republics of Angola, Uganda, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has ended as presidents passing resolutions to always  prioritize the resolution of any dispute between their respective countries by peaceful means through conventional channels and in the Spirit of African brotherhood and solidarity.

The meeting were held by the invitation of the Angola Manuel Gonçalves, a quadripartite meeting has been held on Friday, July 2019 in Luanda between Presidents.Yoweri Museveni, (Uganda) Paul Kagame,(Rwanda), and Felix Tshisekedi (DRC)

The meeting follows the Tripartite Summit held in Kinshasa in May 2019 between the Heads of State of Angola, Rwanda and the DRC and the consultation undertaken by the Special Envoy of the President of Angola to President Museveni Uganda on 18 June 2019, in Kampala.

During the present Summit, all four Heads of State reviewed the general situation in the sub region as well as the need for strengthening of cooperation among the four countries.

A statement from Foreign affairs ministry noted that the Meeting between the four Heads of State was conducted in a cordial climate of fraternity and decided to continue to pay particular attention to the creation of a climate conducive for fostering cooperation between respective countries in areas of common interest including in the Political and Economic spheres.

They also agreed to prioritize the resolution of any dispute between their respective countries by peaceful means through conventional channels and in the Spirit of African brotherhood and solidarity

Other resolutions include supporting the efforts by the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo in the process of dealing with the outbreak Ebola and committing to work together to prevent the further spread of the epidemic.

The Four Heads of State agreed to continue their consultations on issues of mutual interest.
