The Ministry of Finance have collaborated with Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) and the Civil Society Budget Advocacy Group (CSBAG) to organize a show aimed at engaging the citizens to participate in the national budgeting process and sensitizing them on accountability of resources allocated to the various ministries, departments and agencies among other government institutions.

The show will be under the theme Industrialization for Job Creation and Shared Prosperity, the 3-day exhibition kicked off on June 5 and is expected to end on June 7 at Kololo Independence grounds.

Speaking at the Opening Ceremony of exhibition, Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda rallied the public to attend the exhibition week saying that it helps to involve citizens in the budgeting process.

Also the Minister for Finance Matia Kasaija said that the budget week exhibition will make the government institutions more open and accessible to the public thereby enabling people to freely interact with the authorities unlike in the past where budgeting process was secretive.

The show was attended also by Hon. Okello Oryem, Minister for State for International Affairs, Hon. Philemon Mateke, Minister for State for Regional Affairs, Amb. Patrick Mugoya Permanent Secretary, Amb. Arthur Kafeero, Ag. Director of Regional Cooperation, Amb. Alfred Nnam, Head Public Diplomacy. Mr. Steven Kyatekera, Under Secretary, Mr. Phillip Mbatya, Principal Personnel Officer, and other Members of staff.
