The acting Executive Director Kampala capital city authority (KCCA) Eng. Andrew Kitaka confirms his presence charge of all the affairs at the City Hall.

Eng.Kitaka told The Homeland Newspaper that what has been running on social media that he had been relieved of his duties seems to be Lugambo (fake news) and that should be disregarded.

Since Monday evening, social media platforms and online newspapers have been awash with stories of the sacking of Eng. Kitaka, who assumed office recently when former KCCA executive director Jenifer Musisi threw in the towel.

After resigning, Musisi said she quit the office because her life was under threat after she found a hand grenade under her official car.

The sources of the ‘fakes news’ of Kitata’s sacking had indicated that he had been replaced by Jamil Senyonjo currently working as the Ag. Assistant Commissioner in charge of Public and Corporate Affairs at the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA).

Neither Senyonjo nor the presidency has commented about this matter. However, Kampala Minister Beti Kamya and KCCA Spokesperson Peter Kaujju have denied knowledgement of the sacking of Eng. Kitaka.

Peter Kaujju reportedly noted that Eng. Kitaka was still in office and asked the public to refer to the KCCA website for any official communication about KCCA affairs.

Sources of Kitaka’s news of being sacked argued that President Yoweri Museveni had promised to give the office of the KCCA executive director to a Muslim from the central region hence Senyonjo’s appointment.

Changes at KCCA capture the public attention mainly because of the benefits and influence that come with the office of the executive director.
