Lubiri High School has finally owned up that the students who were filmed dancing in the Midland High School bus are theirs.
In a letter dated June 12, the management of Lubiri High confirmed that indeed, it was their students on the said bus, saying that further investigations in regards to the matter are underway.
“The students on board belong to our school. They had gone for an Agricultural Show to Jinja,” the letter reads in part.
According to Lubiri High, their students in the video that has since gone viral on social media were only having a happy moment, spinning and twirling to the blasting music.
The school said that this is a co curriculum activity that is allowed and provided at the school.
“As Lubiri High School we take a stand on the actions taken in the video to be just a mere dance of which is part of the school’s co curriculum activities.
The management was, however, quick to apologise to Midland High School where they hired the bus and the public for what has been seen by many as a “misconduct.”
Earlier on, Lubiri High had strongly distanced itself from the same students and had denied any involvement thereto.
The same management had said that their school is built on imparting discipline and cultural norms to the young generation and that they cannot be party to such behaviour.
A viral video captured by passersby showed a school bus belonging to Midland High School at standstill in traffic gridlock. Through the transparent windows, a couple of female students could be seen dancing atop their male counterparts, with all parties enjoying both the act and the fact that the bus is stuck temporarily so the journey elongates.
The video caused quite a stir, with different social media users calling for some form of an internal review in the school, as regards discipline and rules enforcement.
