Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has asked Gen Gregory Mugisha Muntu to keep his insight about the Uganda People’s Defense Forces to himself and his “small collapsing party.”
Muntu was asking Gen. Muhoozi on Twitter to ask his father, also commander in chief of the Armed Forces to retire him (Muhoozi) to freely enter politics and not to hobnob yet still a serving Military officer.
Muntu on Twitter wrote; “Great. Use the same insight to ask the CIC to retire you from the Army as you pursue your political Agenda. It is legitimate. However, respect the officers & men in Uniform. NRA/ UPDF has been built through many sacrifices. Welcome to politics but GET OUT of uniform first.”

Gen Muntu’s message was reactionary to Gen Muhoozi’s first tweet about several UPDF officers whom he said wanted war between Uganda and Rwanda which he stopped by brokering peace between President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda and President Paul Kagame of Rwanda.
However in response, Gen Muhoozi who first greeted the former army commander told Gen Muntu that the UPDF, his father (President Museveni) and himself (Gen Muhoozi) Do not need his insight.
“General Greg, first of all, habari ya siku mingi sana? I hope you are well? Secondly, me, my father and practically everybody else in UPDF does not require your ‘Insight’ into anything. Please keep it for yourself and your small collapsing political party.” Gen Muhoozi wrote.
Gen Muntu is the President of the Alliance for National Transformation Political Party – ANT. He previously served as the president of the Forum for Democratic Change.
He is one of the longest serving army commander of the Uganda People’s Defense Forces.
Gen Muhoozi was last week dragged to the constitutional court by city lawyer Gawaya Tegule for making utterances on the political landscape of the country yet he is a serving military officer.
Muhoozi is also the commander of the land forces. He has since April this year been celebrated by Ugandans under the MK48 project, celebrating his 48th birthday.
