Tragic as former RDC Kawooya, 5 other family members perish in car accident along masaka road

Koboko Resident District Commissioner Isaac Kawooya has Friday morning perished in a motor accident that occurred at Mpambire swamp in Mpigi District.
The accident involving a Toyota Premio Reg No. UAZ 417D and a Tanzanian trailer Reg. No. TZ 881DNG, also claimed the lives of 5 others.
Police have identified the 5 others as Haji Muwonge Abudallah, 54 years a resident of Nyamitanga Mbarara district who was the driver of the premio, , Mukakamali Anasipasi female adult 66 years, Aharizira Christine 25 years resident of Mutojo Ntugamo district, Semanda Manusulu 55 years of Kakoba central Mbarara district, and a juvenile of 5 years who has not been identified.
Mr Kawooya formerly served as RDC for Soroti, Hoima and Busheyi Districts.
Police say investigations into the cause of accident are ongoing.
By press time, arrangements to transfer the bodies to Mulago City mortuary for postmortem examination were underway.
