There are many old guns who dont want to retire there bullets they have lived life in politics, eat politics,talk politics and walking politics as well the Homeland Newspaper Digital presents these gallant sons of the pearl from Bushenyi district Greater, professors Kamuntu, Kabwegyere and president Yoweri Museveni seriously still have appetite for power despite being 80 years and above.

Prof. Ephraim Kamuntu is moving around day and night to be elected MP FOR Sheema south in Sheema district. He lost the seat in 2021 to a fellow professor, Dickens Mushemeza.

He was born in 1941, he is now 83 years of age. He is a professor of sociology and has been in politics since his youthful days.

He is well known for chairing the Mosh conference of exiled Ugandans by DICTACTOR Idda Amin. After the mosh conference Idda Amin was ousted from the presidency.

He was a minister in president Binaisa’s government. He was the secretary general of DP during UPC’s second time of leadership.

Prof. Kabwegyere was a minister and MP Igara west in Bushenyi district. In 2021, he tried and lost to Hon. Gaafa.

He is currently eyeing the same seat but has not come out openly. People close to him say that “you can’t rule him out of the race”

PRESIDENT YOWERI MUSEVENI 80 YEARS

The son of Amos Kaguta is the president of Uganda currently after winning the 2021 General elections and is tipped to contest as the main NRM presidential candidate for 2026 elections. He says is able and strong to rule for life.

He took power on Jan.26, 1986 and since then he has been president. He has weakened all the opposition by offering them opportunities in NRM government.
