The Uganda Ambassador to Qatar Dr. Rashid Yahya Ssemuddu has urged the Muslim community to stay united and committed to their faith during and after the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

Amb. Dr. Rashid Ssemuddu says the fear of Allah is the source of wisdom. Adding further, Ssemuddu says those who believe in God will never miss out on Jana (heaven) and that whatever they do will be perfect. Also he says it is important for Muslims to exhibit the heart of togetherness and mercy through helping those in need.

“Love your religion, practice it even if you belong to different groups but strive to identified as a true Muslim and a believer”Amb.Ssemuddu said.

“I want to urge our dear Muslim sisters and brothers here to remain united and committed to your faith as are doing in this month even after it has ended”

Ssemuddu a sheikh and Muslim scholar recently hosted faithful to an Iftar dinner at his home in Kitende, Wakiso district attracting people from all walks of life. These included; media personalities and diplomats among many others.

“Ramadan is the time when Muslims are compelled to giving and this is the reason why I have considered both the journalists and Muslim celebrities for and the general Muslim community” Amb. Ssemuddu added.

Amb. Yahya Rashid Ssemuddu asked Muslims to remain committed to Allah and love Islam as  their religion as it surely a complete way of life, and that if one believer adheres to the teaching of the Quran and the silent approvals of the Prophet S.A.W that person shall never go astray in life.

Other than that, Rashid Ssemuddu stressed the need for fasting in the holy month of Ramadhan and after. During and towards the final ten days, Muslims across the globe show mercy and total supplication to their lord in the holy month.

He says according to Islamic teachings, the last ten days are key in that it was during this time that the holy Quran is believed to have been revealed.

Within these days there is a special holy night known as ‘Laiylat al-qadri’ which is equivalent to 83 years (1000 months). Subsequently, if a Muslim believer is found doing a good act in this night, he/she will receive rewards like someone who has done it for 83 years.

Preferably, The African News Journal has decided to publish the entire sermon in Luganda dialect for those in Uganda.
