A Section of 74 parents of Kantare Child Development Centre in Rukiga District under Compassion International Uganda have today received a total of 212 goats and 20 piglets, with the aim of enhancing each family’s income.
Some of the beneficiaries who talked with our reporter shortly after receiving their goats and piglets were identified as Ebuis Vastina a resident of Nyaruhise , Kyobutungi Phionah a resident of Kamusisa and others at the headquarters of Kantare Child Development Centre, Â in Kantare village, Kitanga Parish, Kashabya Sub County, Rukiga District thanked the management of Kantare Child Development Centre (CDC) for the distribution of valuable livestock
They assured the CDC’s management that they would diligently raise and care for the goats and piglets to generate income for their families.
Rev. Johnson Deus Nabaasa, the Parish Priest of Kitanga Church of Uganda, who represented Ven. Justus Alcampuria, the Archdeacon of Kitanga Archdeaconry, delivered an encouraging message to the beneficiaries. He urged them to make the most of the animals they had received and to ensure their well-being.
Benon Twongyeirwe, the Project Director of Kantare Child Development Centre, explained that they had prepared a proposal for families under their care at the CDC. This proposal had been approved by Compassion International Uganda, and they had successfully garnered funding from international supporters to purchase the livestock.
Mr. Twongyeirwe further disclosed that they had invested a total of 53,140,000 Ugandan Shillings in acquiring goats and piglets for each family. The aim of this Endeavor was to bolster the income of the families associated with the Kantare Child Development Centre.
