The Uganda Police headquarters in Kampala will be temporarily closed, the force has announced.

Police spokesman Fred Enanga who was addressing the media in Kampala on Monday, said the three-day closure will allow for COVID-19 disinfection and testing of personnel for the virus in the different departments.

Fred Enang has come out and stressed that the police headquarters were temporarily closed to allow for thoroughly cleaning.

“All the police personnel’s and at the Nagulu based office will resume work after the process is completed”, Enang added.

Fred Enang advised Directors to continue prevailing with their work while at their homes.

This has come in time when reports indicated that the tests that were made, some government offices were not excluded from the list of those whose members tasted positive.

Enang said one of the traffic officer in Jinja and the director at the police headquarters were tested and found positive. Enang said that the officers were quarantined in Entebbe and Jinja respectively.

Enang has also called upon all Ugandans and security organs to be vigilant and adhere to the standard operating procedures.

He warned politicians who have continued violating the guidelines of the ministry of health and said that they are devising strict rules to foster the SOPs.
