The Deputy Resident District Commissioner {D/RDC} Kagadi Benjamin Tumusiime has warned the public against using the Parish Development Model {PDM} funds for luxury.

Tumusiime made the warning while addressing group committee members, parish chiefs, and ward agents from 11 sub-counties and town councils at freedom tree in Kagadi town council Kagadi District on Wednesday.

Each parish in Kagadi District received 25 million shillings for the first phase of the country-wide development aimed at deriving 39% of households from poverty.

Tumusiime added that the parish development model fund is a plunge from President Museveni meant to develop the poor people in villages and not the rich.

He has also cautioned the commercial officer to do the vetting of the names of the beneficiaries of PDM program.

Jenifer Mbabazi the Woman Member of Parliament Kagadi district has asked the people of Kagadi to be focused and enjoy the benefits of the NRM government.

Peter Kusemererwa the commercial officer of Kagadi district has asked the parish development model leaders and all parish chiefs to teach all people in the PDM program the use of money given to them.

Kusemererwa said that this money is paid back at a very low-interest rate of 0.6 percent, a sign that the government wants every person in the country to be rich.
