Amidst the intensifying pressure across the different political parties in Uganda, Democratic Party has launched a green ballet for its supporters to counter the force of other parties that already have ballets.

Whereas the National Resistance Movement uses a yellow ballet and the National Unity Platform uses red, Democratic Party has come up with the green color ballet.

While speaking in a press conference, Democratic party President, Norbert Mao who launched the ballet said; “we have introduced this ballet for our members.

We are soon introducing other items like key holders-shirts, and ties. Mao also said that they will introduce a special headgear for the commander in chief.

Mao said that this is intended to motivate members of Democratic Party to love and be proud of their party like the Baganda.

Mao also launched nomination forms for Members of parliament and said that anyone above the age of 18 can apply.

Mao said that those who will apply should have copies of academic papers, national identification, Democratic Party membership card, letter expressing interest and a moderate fee to assist office work.

He called upon members to believe in themselves and be vigilant about what Democratic Party can do to cause change in this country.

He further stressed that Democratic party shall not believe in change for the sake of change, he was quoted saying that; “Democratic party is the is the best alternative that can offer the real change., it is DP that can offer  the real alternative to NRM”

In the conference, Mao said that Museven’s plan to give bicycles, motor cycles and pickups to NRM cadres at different levels is intended to curry votes and Mao said this is wrong. Mao   warned the National Resistance Movement about their plans of rigging elections.

Mao promised to massively protest against the outcome of the rigged elections and ascertained that he will make alliances with other opposition parties to counter the results.
