Speaking on 31st December 2025, the EC Chairperson emphasized that all scheduled activities, including voter registration, candidate nominations, campaigns, and polling preparations, have been concluded according to plan.

“The Electoral Commission wishes to inform the general public that all the activities on the Roadmap up to this point, namely, campaigns and preparations for polling, have been concluded,” the Chairperson said.

Training and Deployment of Election Officials

The Commission has completed the recruitment and training of election officials across the country, including national, district, and polling station levels. Officials were trained in election management, ethical conduct, conflict resolution, and the use of technology such as the Biometric Voter Verification Kit (BVVK).

Observers and Legal Petitions

Accreditation of both domestic and international election observers is ongoing, highlighting the EC’s commitment to transparency and accountability.

In addition, the majority of petitions arising from candidate nominations have already been resolved, reinforcing confidence in a fair electoral process.

Call for Peaceful Elections

As campaigns enter the final phase, the EC appeals to political actors and supporters to conduct their activities lawfully and peacefully.

The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to delivering “free, fair, credible, and transparent elections in accordance with the Constitution and the laws of Uganda.”
