According to the programme, recruitment of Sub-county and Parish Supervisors is scheduled for June 25, while recruitment of Village Election Officials will run from June 22 to July 1. The names of recruited officials will be displayed at Parish and Ward headquarters on July 2, followed by their training on July 3.

The verification of residents and compilation of the Village General Voters’ Registers will take place between July 6 and July 10, with July 10 set as the cut-off date for compiling the LC I voters’ register. The register will then be displayed from July 13 to July 14 for public scrutiny.

Aspiring candidates for LC I Chairperson positions will obtain nomination forms between July 9 and July 14. Nominations will be conducted at Sub-county, Town Council and Division headquarters from July 15 to July 19.

Campaigns for Village (LC I) Chairperson candidates are scheduled to run from July 20 to July 27, ahead of polling day on July 28. On the same day, village residents will elect LC I Chairpersons, conduct vote counting, declare winners and nominate as well as approve LC I Executive Committees during village council meetings.

At the Parish and Ward (LC II) level, compilation of voters’ registers will begin on July 29, followed by display of the registers from July 30 to July 31.

Nominations for LC II Chairperson candidates are set for August 3, while campaigns will take place between August 4 and August 9. Polling for Parish and Ward Chairpersons will be conducted on August 10.

The Electoral Commission called upon all stakeholders to actively participate in the various electoral activities and adhere to the established guidelines to ensure free, fair and credible elections.
