The Uganda Police Force has today disowned the rumors that pass on the social media platforms that the police is carrying out recruitments as of now.

While speaking in the press conference at the Media Centre in Kampala, the assistant spokes person of the Uganda police force, Polly Namaye said that people who are calling in and preparing for entrance received fraud information which was misleading the community.

Polly said; “we shall let you know via the recognized media, but as of now police is not carrying out any recruitment “

Polly has also encouraged police officers to put in more enforcement on Covid 19 guidelines and directives to abase the spread of the virus among Ugandans.

According to Namaye, there is laxity in the enforcement and this has increased the violence of the standard operating procedures.

Namaye stressed that bars are continuing to work, wearing of masks and cafew times are not observed especially among taxi drivers, bodaboda and private vehicles.

She warned police officers over the laxity and said that serious actions shall be applied to commanders who entertain excuses among those Ugandans who violet the covid 19 guidelines.  “Police does not take any exemption from anyone” she added

More so, police has warned Ugandans about the dangers of the prevailing rains across the country that has taken lives of many Ugandans leaving near water bodies.

This has followed the lightening on 27th that affected ten children at the football pitch in Alisu parish, Arua city and out of the ten, nine died and only one survived but still in intensive care.

Police says that on 26th, there were also drowning due to overloading and strong winds on the water bodies of Lake Bunyonyi that killed five people who were travelling on a cannel although they have tried and recovered two bodies and still looking for the three bodies.

Police says that the medical teams and the district security committee are still increasing to monitor the situation and encourage the communities around water bodies to be mindful of the prevailing circumstances.
