The Arua Municipality Member of Parliament Kassiano Ezati Wadri who was last year appointed the coordinator of Bobi Wine’s People Power for West Nile has on Thursday 30th July officially joins the Alliance for National Transformation the Alliance for National Transformation [ANT] party of Gen.Gregory Mugisha Muntu.

Kassiano Wadri Wadri who is a strong confidant of Kyadondo East legislator and leader of the National Unity Platform Party Robert Kyagulanyi was officially joins other MPs who were earlier unveiled as ANT members includes Jinja east Paulo Mwiru [FDC], Ntungamo Municipality Gerald Karuhanga [IND], He was ushered into the party by the ANT party leadership led by Gen.Gregory Mugisha Muntu.

While speaking to members at his initiation into the ANT party, Kassiano Wadri said that, since he played a part in the initial stages when ANT was being formed, he could not miss being a registered as a full paid up member of the party and he called it blood party and that he feels at home.

“I was part of the founding members of the ANT party and cannot miss being a member and will work to ensure it gets numbers in the parliament and at grassroots. This is what democracy is all about….”Wadri said.

Kassiano Wadri also said that, he feels more comfortable being in a political organization that is led by smart politicians like Gen.Muntu with whom they share youthful history especially in the struggle for justice and good governance.

Hon.Wadri further explains reason why he didn’t join Bobi Wine’s National Unity Party, Wadri said that, we initially associated with People Power Pressure group even when we belonged to different political party with different ideologies though the goal is one, now that Kyagulanyi Ssentamu [Bobi wine] decided to get a party called NUP it was prudent time for all members to identify the true identity that will pull resources and support to pressure the drive into state house.

ANT founder Gen. Muntu welcomed Wadri and promised to attract more leaders into the party which he says is the fundamental objective on which the ANT was founded as a party that believes in values.

Over the past one-month, there has been mass defection of senior members from Kyagulanyi’s camp, most of them joining the ANT while others went back to the ruling National Resistance Movement.

Other MPs such as Mbwatekamwa Gaffa and Barnabas Tinkasimire has also been unveiled as People Power coordinators in Ankore and Bunyoro but they have since renewed their cooperation with their NRM party and chairman President Museveni.

On Tuesday, Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago yesterday officially joined the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party.

Kyagulanyi is said to be particularly bitter since he believes he was instrumental in the election that brought Wadri to parliament in 2018.

Hon.Kassiano Wadri was in 2018 elected the MP Arua Municipality in a by-election following the death of Ibrahim Abiringa.

However, chaos dominated the last day of campaigns leading to the arrest of several members of the opposition.

The arrested individuals, led by Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, were accused of obstructing President Yoweri Museveni’s motorcade and pelting stones that smashed the windscreen of one of the vehicles in the convoy. The President was in Arua to campaign for Nusura Tiperu, a candidate for the ruling National Resistance Movement- NRM party.

Yasin Kawuma, a driver was shot dead while the arrested individuals were charged with treason.
