Hoima woman MP by-election FDC picks Nyakato Asinansi for Hoima district

The Youthful Nyakato Asinansi Kamanda has been selected as Forum for Democratic Change (FDC)  as Hoima District Woman Parliamentary candidate in the impeding by-elections.

Nyakato is currently serving as FDC National Executive committee (NEC) member as National Secretary for Health.

She is also a former Secretary for health on the FDC National Youth League executive committee (2011- 2015)

Information from the Najanankumbi based FDC party confirmed that she will be nominated as a candidate on August 28, 2019 to participate in the political showdown.

“She is the joint opposition candidate following other forces of change endorsement of her candidature,” Mr. Walid Mulindwa, the FDC youth wing chief mobilizer confirmed.

Hon Kaahwa who is under the NRM political party was previously serving in Hoima district as a Member of Parliament but she finally decided to serve as Kikuube Woman MP.

Kikuube district which was carved out of Hoima was made a district and became effective on July 1.

Last week, the Electoral Commission approved the programme for the by-election of District Woman Representatives to Parliament for Hoima and Kaabong districts and elections in Lower Local Government Councils in the two districts.

According to Electoral commission the programme the by-election will take place on 26th of September however candidates who will be nominated have been warned against holding processions and urged to only campaign in gazetted areas only.
