Council Wilbroad Rwamunahe, a dedicated lawyer based in Kampala and an aspiring Chairperson of LCV Kabale District, urged the farmers to seize the opportunity of a potentially favorable season by planting early before the rains cease.

Wilbroad made this call during the funeral of 7-year-old Kemigisha Shine, the daughter of Amos Ekiriape. Tragically, young Kemigisha Shine lost her life in a forest accident when a stone struck her, causing fatal injuries, as she was gathering firewood in Kibungo village, Kinyamari parish, Butanda sub-county, Ndrorwa west, Kabale district.

Council Rwamunahe encouraged farmers to maximize their food and crop production by capitalizing on the expected abundant rains. He emphasized the importance of promptly preparing their land and planting early to make the best use of the available water resources.

He stressed that farmers should plan wisely, as the rainfall might not be sufficient, and it’s crucial to make the most of the available moisture.

Rwamunahe also requested the grieving family not to heed those who might claim to know the circumstances of their daughter’s tragic demise.

In the same vein, Rev. Norman Tumwesige, the lay leader of St. Peter’s Kinyamari Church of Uganda in Rwahcereere Archdeaconry in the Diocese of Kigezi, delivered a sermon during the burial,he cautioned the mourners against spreading unfounded rumours about the cause of their younger daughter’s death.

Rev. Norman reminded everyone that mortality is a shared fate, and it’s vital for the family of the deceased to remain strong in the face of any potentially hurtful speculations or comments from others.
