King Ceasor University College of Medicine, Health and Life Sciences, based in Kampala, has been officially listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDMS), a major boost for the institution’s international recognition.
The World Directory of Medical Schools is a globally recognised database used by medical regulators and organisations to verify medical schools whose programmes meet accepted international standards.
According to the WDMS listing, “Unless indicated otherwise, medical degrees obtained from this medical school are acceptable to the provincial/territorial medical regulatory authorities in Canada, and therefore acceptable to all medical organisations in Canada.”
The directory further notes that the school is recognised by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) in the United States of America, making its students eligible for certification pathways required for medical practice and training abroad.
“Students and graduates of this medical school are eligible to apply to ECFMG for ECFMG Certification and for examination, provided that: for medical school students officially enrolled in this school, the graduation years are listed below as current; for graduates of this medical school, their graduation year is included in the graduation years listed below.” The WDMS statement reads.
King Ceasor University College of Medicine, Health and Life Sciences is listed under FAIMER School ID: F0005593, with recognition covering 2020 to the current period, meaning graduates from those years are considered eligible under the directory’s framework.
Uganda already has several medical training institutions listed in the WDMS, including Makerere University College of Health Sciences, Mbarara University School of Medicine, Gulu University School of Medicine, Kampala International University School of Health Sciences, among others.
The inclusion of King Ceasor University expands opportunities for its graduates to pursue further training, certification and professional prospects in countries such as Canada and the United States, subject to meeting other regulatory requirements.
Education experts say such listings enhance the global standing of Uganda’s medical schools and create more international pathways for locally trained doctors.
King Ceasor University is a private, chartered, and internationally recognized institution in Uganda, established in 2011 (formerly St. Augustine International University) by King Ceasor Augustus Mulenga.
Located in Kampala, it specializes in medicine, science, technology, and law, focusing on producing resourceful graduates for global demands through innovative, technology-driven education.
