The deputy speaker of parliament Anita Among and FUFA President Moses Magogo wore similar masks for the plenary session Thursday evening as they debated the National Sports Council Act of 1964.
Legislators debated a motion for a resolution of Parliament to congratulate the men’s national basketball team (Silverbacks) and the under 16 boys and girls national basketball teams.
The motion was moved by Santa Alum and seconded by Budiope West MP Magogo who wore matching mask with the deputy speaker Anitah.
Magogo while seconding, asked the Government of Uganda to consider amending the NCS Act which he says is archaic and out of touch with the present which discourages private investment into sports.

Budiope MP also FUFA President Hasim Moses Magogo congratulated the Basketball team and also requested Government to acquire, construct and maintain sports equipment and facilities in the country.
In response to Magogo, Vice President Jessica Alupo told the house that the amendment bill for the NCS Act is ready and will soon be presented to the house. Alupo said that the bill will address most of the issues that have been addressed by Members of Parliament.
Minister of State for Education John Chrysostom Muyingo told the house that the Government is committed to supporting and facilitating the sports. Muyingo said despite the budgetary constraints for the sports sector, the Ministry Education and Sports will continue to study the circumstances and mobilise more funds.
Dr. Lillian Aber, Kitgum Woman MP, tipped: “If the country takes funding of the sports sector as a serious venture, many young people who are engaged in sports shall benefit and thus uplift their standards of living through earnings from sports”
Kalungu West MP, Joseph Ssewungu has asked the government to look at Sports as very important sector that can create employment and solve the problem of unemployment. Ssewungu noted that the budget of security should be reduced and more money added to facilitate the sports sector.
