His Eminence Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, the Mufti of Uganda has reminded Muslims to live righteously knowing that they are departing the earthly life at any moment.
He made the remarks at the funeral of the late Hajjat Sophia Nakabuye, the Sister to Haj Yusuf Mpoza, a Special Envoy from the Office of the Mufti to Great Britain and currently stationed in London.
The late Nakabuye was buried at her ancestral home in Nakabiso Village in Nakirebe County in Mpigi Town Council.
Addressing the mourners at the burial, Sheikh Mubaje noted that death is inevitable to humanity irrespective of one’s age, status, and level of education.
He cited the Holy Quran Chapter 2: 156 which says “Be sure We ( Allah) to test you with something of fear and hunger, some loss as in goods, or lives or the fruits of your toil but give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere who say when afflicted with calamities, to Allah we belong and onto Him is our return.”
The Mufti expressed gratitude to the Muslim population for having participated in the recently held UMSC National elections. “We expect elected Muslim leaders to work hard,” he said.
