Samuel Walter Lubega Mukaaku who was dumped out from his office of NUP deputy electoral committee officer has today come out and disowned  the allegations that he was relieved due to matters connected to corruption in his office.

Yesterday, the National Unity Platform (NUP) president Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu chased out Lubega Mukaaku from office alleging him of misconduct and engaging in corruption.

Mukaaku while speaking in a press conference in Rubaga asked those alleging him of being corrupt to come out with evidence that confirms their statements and ascertained that his track record was clear from Uganda Young Democrats (UYD).

“If I wanted money, I would have got it from the Arua, Jinja, Kyadondo and Bugiri elections where the government had much interest, as the chairman of the campaigns. I withstood all the tortures, remained firm and never at any certain point got disappointed at anyone and we successfully managed it.” Mukaaku said.

Mukaaku still emphasized that his expulsion from the office was earlier agreed upon on appointment. He said that they agreed that he will leave office when time for elections come and to avoid conflict of interest, he had to leave the office and prepare for campaigns. He claims that a good foundation in the office has been left and he has left there a competent team that will manage all the duties of the electoral committee.

Mukaaku further emphasized that as a warrior he will fully support Honorable Kyagulanyi Ssentamu for presidency and that he will not leave NUP on grounds that he has worked hard and has been at the centre of all NUP successes.

“The government has tried much to create confusion on Mukaaku and his supporters, but managed to counter all of them and I promise to grab all those behind destroying my mission; now am relieved and a freelancer politician.” Mukaaku exaggerated.

Ssekidde Samuel one of Mukaaku’s strong supporters from Ndeeba encountered the NUP party president Hon. Kyagulanyi and said that it was not ethical for the president to bring the matter on media. He also confronted Aloysius Mukasa and accused him for being behind all those confussions.

Ronald Nsimbi said that it was right for Mukaaku to be stepped out to avoid conflicting interests especially when the party is preparing for elections and Mukaaku is one of the contestants.

“Although he was dropped he is still their best candidate in Rubaga because he has built a good political career and prepares the young generation for political offices”, said Agnes Namakula Kawuki a supporter from Rubaga.
