As presidential campaigns enter into the last six-weeks, President Yoweri Museveni, who is the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) candidate, has named a 12-member national election taskforce.

The NRM national treasurer, Rose Namayanja, said the team, headed by the party’s first national vice chairperson, Moses Kigongo, will execute the co-ordination of the village-to-village campaigns.

“The national taskforce will play the role of strategic guidance of the campaigns, bearing in mind that at the village level, there are also taskforces for our members to conduct mobilization.

The village mobilization is to engage the people. At the sub-county level and districts, we also have the NRM executive committees that will be leading us,” Namayanja confirmed the developments on Sunday, November 29, during the NRM press conference at the party headquarters in Kampala.
