NRM Retreat Deepens Ideological Grounding of Newly Elected MPs, Says Party Finance Director

According to a statement shared on the party’s official platforms, newly elected MPs on the NRM ticket, alongside Independent legislators aligned to the party, members of the Central Executive Committee (CEC), and senior Secretariat officials are finalizing registration before departure.

The exercise marks the first step in preparations for the high-level retreat scheduled to take place in Kyankwanzi, a venue traditionally used by the party for ideological training and strategic planning.

Party leaders are expected to travel tomorrow to Kyankwanzi, where the retreat will focus on orienting legislators to the NRM’s legislative agenda, governance priorities, and broader ideological direction.

The gathering is also expected to emphasize party cohesion and discipline among legislators as they begin a new parliamentary term, with a focus on aligning individual roles to the party’s broader national objectives.

Such retreats have historically played a central role in shaping legislative strategy within the NRM, offering a platform for coordination between the executive and parliamentary arms of the party.
