The National social security fund NSSF MD Richard Byarugaba appealed to Rotarians to use their positions of responsibility to solve people’s problems in communities that are in great need.
Richard Byarugaba was addressing Rotarians at Protea hotel in Kampala at an event where Rotarians changed positions where Rotarian Namara took over from Robert Semakula who diligently served for one year term.
“Growth and development is a process, use your positions, connections to come up with solutions to problems affecting people and hence make their lives matter. You and I should be each other’s opportunity” he said and called on them to link up with entrepreneurs and use their resources to solve today-today problems.Byarugaba said.
“You should have a purpose. You may have a mission and vision but a purpose matter. It is much easier to do things if you have a purpose. If you do not have, it is very difficult to sustain the power you have.” he said
He donated Shs 20million to the club and cautioned them to put it to proper use.
Speaking after installation, Namara pledged to build off the legacy of the past leaders of the club to improve people’s lives.
Under this year’s theme ‘Rotary Opens Opportunities’ which focuses on creating opportunities that strengthen the leadership of Rotarians and putting service ideas into action, Namara promised to make efforts towards the improvement of the water system and maternity ward in the slams of Kamwokya.
The district governor Rosetti Nabbumba Nayenga urged Namara to follow the right footsteps for the club to serve purposes and achieve its goals.
“It takes a stronger leader to see a Club sustain itself and succeed. Do not follow where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” She said
