The National Water and Sewerage Corporation NWSC has on Friday hosted a colorful Iftar dinner for its Muslim staff members as part of the celebrations marking the Holy Month of Ramadhan.

Speaking as chief guest at the dinner His Eminence Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje the Mufti of Uganda, appreciated the top Management of NWSC for deciding to organise Iftar as one of its annual traditional dinners.

“I thank the Board Chair Prof. Badru Kiggundu  who has been instrumental not only in National Issues, but also has rendered  great services towards Islamic programs such as construction of the National Mosque and is currently chairing Board of Governors of  the UMSC based Islamic Call University at Old Kampala”, said the Mufti.

Mufuti of Uganda Sheikh Ramadhan Mubajje, Sheikh Yahya Kakungulu at the NWSC Muslim Iftar Dinner.

He also thanked the NWSC Ag. Managing Director Eng. Johnson Amayo for his kind words that rightly described the Ramadhan season as time for deep devotion, personal restoration with God and showing compassion towards one another. He also thanked members of staff and particular urged Muslims to be exemplary as they carry on with their duties.

Mufti Mubaje pleaded for the reduction of water tariffs to enable ordinary citizens to access clean and safe water services as one of the ways of eliminating illegal connections and diseases resulting from the consumption of unsafe water.

He also cautioned Ugandans to be conscious about the Covid-19 by observing the guidelines issued by the Ministry of health. 

Sheikh Anas Ssesimba, a Member of Majlis al ulaama, Sheikh Yahaya Ibrahim Kakungulu, former Director of Sharia, and other UMSC Staff were among others that attended the dinner.
