The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) is taking a crucial step towards enhancing water supply services in Kampala Metropolitan through its Baraza platform. Currently underway at the NWSC International Resource Centre in Bugolobi, the Baraza brings together customers, local leaders, and key stakeholders to discuss planned infrastructure, community needs, and service delivery.

This dialogue-driven approach guarantees both technical and people-centered water services, showcasing NWSC’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and collaborative service improvement. Notable figures attended the meeting, which provided a platform for customers to voice concerns and offer suggestions.

Despite existing gaps in water supply in some areas, progress is being made. Customers and leaders from Kawempe and Nansana witnessed firsthand the infrastructure upgrades being carried out to enhance water delivery.

The Baraza platform allows NWSC to directly listen to customers and demonstrate how their input impacts ongoing efforts.

The corporation is working on a project to evacuate more water from the new Katosi Water Treatment Plant through reservoirs being constructed at Sonde Hill, Kungu Hill, and Kanyanya Hill. These reservoirs will provide more reliable and equitable access to water in high-demand, water-stressed communities, including Nansana, Kawempe, Matugga, and parts of Wakiso.

Through the Baraza, NWSC responds to customer concerns by outlining its plans of action to increase service accessibility and reliability. By engaging with customers and stakeholders, NWSC aims to improve water supply services and address the needs of the communities it serves.
