The Deputy Speaker Anita Among has pledged to oversee a motion in Parliament that will name one of the streets in Kampala after the late Bulaimu Muwanga Kibirige (BMK).

BMK, a renown businessman and owner of Hotel Africana passed on last week in Nairobi following a four year battle with cancer.

Speaking at the burial on Sunday, Among told mourners that Parliament will honour BMK by passing a motion that will name a street after business mogul.

“BMK touched all of us, as Parliament, we agreed that we should not allow his name to die. We will pass a motion and name a street after BMK,” Among said.

Among said that BMK was a great businessman and person who will be remembered for his contribution towards the development of the country.

The Late Bulayimu Muwanga Kibirige [BMK] was a great businessman and person who will be remembered for his contribution towards the development of the country.

The burial took place at Nkoowe Village, in Busiro county in Wakiso district.

Other dignitaries who were present at the burial include Gen Katumba Wamala, the Minister for Works and Transport who represented President Museveni and Katikkiro, Charles Peter Mayiga who represented Buganda Kingdom.

Others included NRM first national vice chairperson Al Haji Moses Kigongo, several members of parliament and Hotel Owners.

Mayiga said that BMK’d life should be a lesson to all Ugandans who want to contribute to the country’s development.
