Police in Rukungiri District have recovered a rusty gun with 21 bullets which was hidden in bushes in Rwenjero village in Bugangari Sub County.
Elly Maate, the Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman confirmed that the gun with serial number UG-UPDF A451015 was recovered in the farm of a one Fred Turyakirirahi.
The farmer who was cutting elephant grass in his farm found the rusty gun and notified the Police at Bugangari Sub County who reported to Rukungiri DPC that came with his team to pick it.
Maate says that the Police will investigate the origin of the gun since it’s numbered and possibly get who hid it there and for what purpose.
The case of recovery of a Rifle has been registered at Rukungiri Police Station to help in further investigation.
