The Ntungamo Municipality Member of Parliament, Gerald Karuhanga, who dragged the Parliament to Court, opposing the allocation of Shs10bn to parliamentarians, this week crossed from the Forum for Democratic Movement to the Alliance for National Transformation, headed by Rt Gen. Mugisha Muntu.

Karuhanga, who was joined by the Jinja Municipality MP, Paul Mwiru said that crossing to ANT will not stop their struggle of liberating the country from what they termed as a ‘dictatorial regime’.

“I have always wanted to join this alliance but thanks God that it has come true today. I want to assure the public and people power movement that I will continue to work with you,” Karuhanga told journalists at ANT headquarters this week.

“Today we welcome Hon Mwiru and Karuhanga as members of ANT as the youngest party in Uganda at the moment, we are thrived to have these two gentlemen join our fight for Uganda that works for everyone,” Gen Muntu said adding

Muntu’s target is to liberate the country by having a big number of parliamentarians other than just eying for one position-presidency.

“If these two passionate and resourceful leaders show us anything about the party’s future, it is this,”

ANT has now joined other parties who are eligible of becoming members of the Inter party organisation for Dialogue [IPOD], where NRM, FDC, JEEMA and UPC are already members.

“As ANT, I welcome my elder brothers Hon Gerald Karuhanga and Hon Mwiru Paul for officially joining the alliance,” Badogi Ismael Waguma, the ANT National Deputy Treasurer posted on his official page.

While asked by journalists about losing two members to a fellow opposition party, Ibrahim Ssemuju Nganda, the FDC spokesperson said that party members joining other political parties is not bad as long as they all aim at one agenda of what he called liberating the country.
