Buganda Kingdom Katikiro Charles Peter Mayiga has come out to clear the air on rumors going on that Kabaka Muwenda Mutebi II was poisoned. Mayiga said the Kabaka is suffering from allergy.

The public on seeing the Kabaka at his 66th Birthday anniversary at Mengo Palace started questioning the Katikkiro on matters concerning the King’s health after a video which circulated on social media. The video showed the king was struggling to breathe sometimes doing things which the public think he needed serious medical attention than exposing him to the public like that.

Katikiro Mayiga made the clarification while addressing the media at Bulange Mengo the Katikkiro.

“But like all humans, there are times when our health gets affected. And the Kabaka’s case, the challenges are related to allergies which when they attack him cause difficulties especially when he has a mask on his face,” Mayiga said.

He said that allergies come from the food we eat, it can be from flower petals, dust and other things.  Mayiga asked the public to pray for him so that he gets better.
