His Majesty King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV of the Tooro Kingdom has embarked on an awe-inspiring gorilla trekking adventure in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The royal visit is part of his ambitious 25-year development agenda, aimed at uplifting Uganda’s tourism and conservation sectors by showcasing the country’s unmatched natural beauty.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site nestled in southwestern Uganda, is one of only three places in the world where mountain gorilla trekking is possible. With only about 1,004 mountain gorillas left on the planet, Uganda is proud to be home to over half of this population. The country has successfully habituated 27 gorilla families, making them accessible for responsible tourism and conservation education.

King Oyo’s presence in Bwindi is a powerful symbol of support for sustainable tourism and wildlife conservation. By trekking through the dense rainforest and witnessing these majestic creatures up close, the King reinforces the importance of preserving Uganda’s rich biodiversity for future generations.

The visit has attracted attention across the country and beyond, highlighting Uganda’s status as a top ecotourism destination. The Uganda Wildlife Authority and Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities have applauded the King’s efforts to promote Uganda .

Whether you’re a nature lover, conservationist, or cultural explorer, Uganda invites you to experience the magic of gorilla trekking—just as royalty does.
