The high court in Mbarara has on 17th May 2021 adjourned to 1st June 2021 a case in which a woman from Sheema district accuses Kabwohe Health centre IV workers of prescribing ARVS for her though she was not infected.

Farida Kiconco 36 years a resident of Ntungamo ,Kiziiba,Kagango Sheema municipality alleges she was started on ARVS though she was HIV negative, which affected her health.

Kiconco narrates that she went to Kabwohe health center IV in 2017 and took blood samples which turned out positive.

She explains that doctors advised her to start taking ARVS which she did for some years but later developed general body weakness with her skin turning yellowish which prompted her to seek medical assistance at Mbarara Regional referral hospital where she was tested for the second time and results turned out negative.

Kiconco Farida who is represented by Counsel Aruho Amon of Mubiru and Aruho company advocates laments that family property like land has been sold off to cater for her worrying life and she now demands for one billion shillings from Sheema Local Government

However the magistrate who presided over today’s sitting His worship Samuel Twakire has adjourned the case on ground that the judge in this case was absent.

Efforts to engage Sheema municipality town clerk who was present in court were futile since she never wanted to go on record.
