Panic has taken the parliament of Uganda by storm as one female Lwegislator tests positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday.

According to sources the sick MP is currently admitted at Mulago Referral Isolation Unit.

The Homeland Newspaper has learnt that, from an officer of Parliament of Uganda who wished to remain not mentioned, said the legislator who tested positive is a member of COVID-19 Taskforce.

By press we could not get concerned officers from the parliament to confirm the matter, what we are sure of according to reliable sources its true an MP tested positive and after confirmation we shall be informing our esteemed readers…but the MP represents one of the districts that make up Western Uganda especially Bunyoro region.

Aruu County MP, Odonga Otto also informed fellow MPs on a WhatsApp group that: “I have just been tipped to get out of parliament that Ugandan female MP test positive for Coronavirus…the information should be made public why are they hiding it. She was In parliament yesterday.”

Odonga alleges, her details have been erased from Parliament website and that the matter is being treated as very confidential information.

This development comes high on heels of Speaker Rebecca Kadaga’s announced that all MPs and staff at Parliament will be subjected to mandatory testing for COVID-19 beginning tomorrow- Thursday.

The sick Legislator is said to have been in Parliament on Tuesday and this has caused panic as MPs are not sure of their health conditions…

As of today the COVID-19 tally in Uganda has reached 1,043 still growing…..
