In a rare gesture that has further helped to strengthen the bridge between the police and the communities they serve, former Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Dr. Shk. Rashid Yahya Ssemuddu has donated iftar food items to police officers under the Kajjansi Police Station.

“If one cannot appreciate the good things done by fellow humans, one cannot claim to thank God,” said Ambassador Dr. Ssemuddu at the function at which each officer received a package, consisting of: 25 kg of rice, 25 kg of posho, 10kg of sugar, 10litres of cooking oil and 10 litres of fruit juice concentrate.

Speaking at the same function, Friday April 23, 2021, the Division Police Commander (DPC), Kajjansi, Senior Superintendent of Police, Nsadha Authur, said he was exceedingly pleased, on behalf of his officers, for being considered as beneficiaries of the iftar food items. He said it was a good sign that the work of the police was appreciated out there by kind people like Ambassador Ssemuddu.

The donation, was the first of its kind, to men and women in uniform who profess the Islamic faith at Kajjansi police station. The officers expressed gratitude to the donor and the Almighty God for the timely gift, which would go a long way in helping them overcome hardships related to feeding their families.

Ambassador Ssemuddu isn’t a stranger with respect to philanthropic work in the ranks of the disciplined forces. In 2018 he made donations of food items to senior officers at the Police Headquarters Naguru. During a number of idi aduha seasons spanning close to a decade, he had made donations of meat to the police and military officers.
