The Ggaba Community Church has held a solemn memorial prayer service to honor children who were tragically killed in an attack at Ggaba Early Development Program last Thursday.
The church, which oversees several schools under the Maranatha program, brought together grieving families, community members, and leaders in a show of unity and mourning.
The atmosphere was somber, with prayers offered for the young victims and support extended to those affected.
According to reports, a man identified as Christopher Onyum allegedly entered the school premises and attacked the children, killing Keisha Agenrwot, Ryan Odeke, Gideon Eteku, and Ignatius Sseruyange, while leaving others injured.
The memorial service was attended by Balaam Barugahara, who served as the chief mourner and extended condolences to the bereaved families.
He emphasized the need to strengthen child protection measures to prevent similar incidents.
Meanwhile, police have urged the public to remain calm as investigations continue. Speaking through the Divisional Police Commander of Kabalagala, Ayiko Sydney, authorities reassured the community that efforts are underway to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
The tragic attack has sent shockwaves through the community, prompting renewed calls for improved security in schools and stronger safeguards to protect children.
