The Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) has announced the availability of more than 1,200 trading spaces across several city markets, offering opportunities for vendors seeking organized business premises within Kampala’s public markets.

In a public notice issued on 1 March 2026, KCCA detailed the remaining workspaces across key markets including Busega, Usafi, Wandegeya, Kamwokya, Luzira, Nakawa and the City Abattoir.

According to the notice, the available spaces span a wide range of enterprise categories including garments, fruits and vegetables, lock-ups, restaurants, produce stalls, retail shops, fish, chicken, vegetables, charcoal, and other merchandise.

Busega Market has the highest number of remaining spaces at 310, largely consisting of lock-ups, fruit and vegetable stalls, restaurant spaces and charcoal outlets.

At Usafi Market, KCCA listed 247 spaces available across enterprises such as shoes, garments, kitchen and refrigeration sections as well as general merchandise.

Wandegeya Market has 166 spaces, including vegetable stalls, butcheries, matooke vendors, dry fish traders, salon spaces and lock-ups in both the north and south wings.

Meanwhile, Kamwokya Market has 150 spaces for restaurants, fish, chicken, vegetables, produce and clothing businesses.

Other markets with remaining workspaces include City Abattoir (185), Luzira (108) and Nakawa (66), covering a mix of produce stalls, retail shops, ndagala traders, shoe vendors and other businesses.

KCCA said the listing forms part of efforts to ensure orderly trade in the city’s redeveloped markets while giving vendors an opportunity to operate from structured facilities.
