The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) Managing Director, Eng. Dr. Silver Mugisha has responded to social media reports of a security probe at the Corporation, saying they support the fight against corruption but rejects what he described as politically driven attacks and social media character assassination.
Speaking at a media roundtable at the corporation’s Resource Centre in Bugolobi, Kampala on Friday, Mugisha said: “NWSC strongly supports the fight against corruption, but emphasizes that advocacy must be driven by genuine public interest rather than localized political manipulation or social media character assassination. The management and staff of NWSC spend sleepless nights overcoming severe operational challenges to serve the people of Uganda,” Mugisha said.
He added: “The corporation welcomes objective, fact-based feedback, but condemns coordinated bad-faith rants that seek to demoralize the public servants dedicating their lives to national development.”
Mugisha appealed for partnerships with the media, not to silence ”bad stories” against NWSC but to report on matters of public interest.
